Is FloDraw a diagramming tool?

No. The canvas is a means, not the product. FloDraw is a spec-driven development tool: you shape a product's vision, PRD, architecture and ADRs, and it compiles them into the files your coding agent actually reads. If all you need is a picture, draw.io is free and excellent.

How is this different from GitHub Spec Kit, Kiro or BMAD?

Same bet — give the agent durable, structured intent instead of a prompt. The difference is that every one of those is terminal-native markdown in a repo, and none of them has a canvas. You cannot reason about a system's shape in a text file. FloDraw is where you think it through visually, and it still ends up as markdown in your repo.

Why wouldn't I just write a good CLAUDE.md?

You should have a good CLAUDE.md — FloDraw writes it for you, including a deny-by-default connection policy compiled from your architecture. The gap is that CLAUDE.md holds rules, not reasoning: it is a poor home for your vision, your PRD and the trade-offs behind an ADR. And a hand-written file rots silently, because nobody updates it when the architecture moves.

My work should live in git. Does FloDraw keep it out of my repo?

No. You design in the workspace, then compile a Handoff bundle — docs/product/, docs/adr/, CLAUDE.md, .cursorrules and an .agents/ conformance pack — and push it straight to your repository. Your agent reads it from your repo, versioned and diffable like everything else.
